Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city-state with strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, finance, technology, and healthcare. The hospitality sector is international and regularly hires people with experience in guest service, food and beverage, culinary work, and hotel operations. Life is convenient, safe, and multicultural, with excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, beaches, parks, and a warm tropical climate. English is widely used at work, alongside Mandarin, Malay, Tamil, and other languages. Foreign applicants generally need an employer-sponsored work pass; the Employment Pass, S Pass, or Work Permit may apply depending on qualifications, salary, and role. Employers typically manage the application. Before relocating, check housing costs, medical insurance, contract terms, working hours, and eligibility requirements. Central accommodation is expensive, so many workers choose areas connected by MRT.
