Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Ras Al Khaimah, with strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, catering, tourism, aviation, retail, and events. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large international community; respectful dress, courteous behavior, and sensitivity during Ramadan are important. Lifestyle is modern and convenient, with beaches, shopping malls, desert activities, and diverse dining, although summers are extremely hot. Most overseas employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas. Employers commonly arrange medical checks, Emirates ID processing, and sometimes accommodation, transport, meals, and flights. Before relocating, confirm the contract, benefits, probation terms, accommodation arrangements, and working hours. Costs vary considerably by emirate, while shared accommodation can reduce expenses. Arabic is the official language, but English is widely used in hospitality workplaces.
