Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied opportunities in hospitality, finance, technology, manufacturing, education and tourism, particularly in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak. Its culture blends Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with English widely used in business and hospitality. Lifestyle options range from busy urban living to quieter coastal and island communities, with generally affordable food, transport and accommodation outside central Kuala Lumpur. Popular islands and destinations include Langkawi, Penang, Tioman, Redang, Perhentian and parts of Sabah. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, and the company generally handles immigration applications and related approvals. Applicants should confirm eligibility, contract terms, healthcare coverage, accommodation and tax obligations before relocating. Malaysia has a tropical climate, so newcomers should prepare for heat, humidity and seasonal monsoon conditions.
