Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers coastal living, beaches, desert landscapes, and a highly international lifestyle. Hospitality is a major employer, with opportunities in hotels, restaurants, resorts, catering, events, and tourism, particularly in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Ras Al Khaimah. The culture combines Emirati traditions with large expatriate communities; modest dress and respect for local customs are expected, especially during Ramadan. Life is convenient and modern, with excellent transport, shopping, dining, and healthcare, although summer heat and housing costs can be significant. Most overseas employees need an employer-sponsored work permit and residence visa. Employers commonly arrange medical testing, Emirates ID processing, insurance, and sometimes accommodation or a housing allowance. Candidates should confirm salary, service charge, benefits, probation, annual leave, flights, and relocation support before accepting an offer.
