Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a compact, highly connected city with excellent opportunities in hospitality, engineering, finance, technology, retail and professional services. Hotel professionals can find roles in luxury properties, restaurants, events and facilities management, particularly in Central, Admiralty, Tsim Sha Tsui and the airport area. The culture combines Cantonese traditions, international influences, fast-paced business practices and diverse dining. Lifestyle options range from urban entertainment and shopping to beaches, hiking trails and outlying islands. Housing can be expensive, so many newcomers share apartments or live in areas such as Kowloon or the New Territories. Foreign employees normally require an employment visa sponsored by a Hong Kong company, with approval based on qualifications, salary and the role’s business need. Employers may assist with relocation, accommodation, medical coverage and visa administration.
