Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a compact, energetic destination with strong employment opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, finance and international business. Hospitality work is concentrated around Central, Admiralty, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay and major resort areas. The culture blends Cantonese traditions, international influences, efficient public services and a fast-paced working style. Living costs, especially rent, are high, although public transport is excellent and staff accommodation or meal benefits may be available in some hotel roles. Overseas employees normally require an employment visa sponsored by the hiring company, with approval depending on qualifications, experience and a confirmed job offer. Relocation usually involves arranging housing, a Hong Kong identity card, banking and health coverage. Hong Kong also offers beaches, hiking, islands, temples, nightlife and outstanding food, making it an appealing base for people seeking an urban lifestyle with easy access to nature.
