Destination Guide

Indonesia offers opportunities across major tourism and business destinations. Java, especially Jakarta and Surabaya, has the widest range of hotel, engineering, corporate, and service-sector jobs. Bali provides strong employment in resorts, restaurants, wellness, and tourism, while Lombok and the islands of eastern Indonesia offer opportunities in developing resort markets, though facilities and transport can be more limited. Local culture values hospitality, respect, modesty, and good relationships; learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is helpful. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to relaxed coastal communities, with generally affordable food and transport but higher housing costs in popular areas. Foreign workers normally need employer sponsorship, an appropriate work permit, and a limited-stay visa or KITAS; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Candidates should confirm accommodation, medical cover, tax arrangements, relocation support, and the exact work location before accepting an offer.
