Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city-state with opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, technology, finance, healthcare and logistics. Hospitality roles are concentrated around Orchard Road, Marina Bay, Sentosa, Changi and major business districts. The culture is multicultural, orderly and generally welcoming, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Singapore offers excellent public transport, reliable healthcare, safe neighborhoods, diverse food and an active urban lifestyle, although rent and daily expenses can be high. Employees should budget carefully, especially for accommodation. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass, while some service roles may fall under other applicable work-pass arrangements. Approval depends on salary, qualifications, experience, quotas and government rules. Candidates should confirm the exact pass, benefits, accommodation and relocation support directly with Shangri-La before accepting an offer.
