Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied opportunities in hospitality, tourism, procurement, retail, technology, manufacturing, and shared services, especially in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Johor, Kota Kinabalu, and Melaka. Penang and Langkawi provide a relaxed island lifestyle, beaches, heritage areas, outdoor activities, and strong tourism employment. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous traditions reflected in food, festivals, language, and daily life. Living costs are moderate, though central Kuala Lumpur and popular resort islands can be more expensive. Public transport is strongest in major cities; island locations often require taxis or private transport. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass arranged before starting work, subject to immigration approval and eligibility requirements. Candidates should confirm accommodation, medical coverage, taxes, relocation costs, and work authorization directly with the employer.
