Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, wellness, marine recreation, and facilities management, particularly in Langkawi, Penang, Sabah, and the east-coast islands. Langkawi is popular for beach resorts and a relaxed lifestyle, while Penang combines heritage, food, urban amenities, and beaches. Sabah provides access to diving, rainforest, and island tourism. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Indigenous influences; English is widely used in hospitality. Living costs are generally moderate, although resort islands can be more expensive and seasonal. Employers commonly arrange staff accommodation, meals, transport, uniforms, and sometimes medical benefits, depending on the contract. Foreign workers normally need an employment pass or relevant work permit arranged and sponsored by the employer before starting work. Candidates should confirm accommodation, insurance, permit costs, contract duration, and return-travel terms before relocating.
