Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied opportunities in hotels, resorts, tourism, aviation, events, retail and international business. Island-based roles are particularly common in Langkawi, Penang, Pangkor, Redang, Perhentian and Sabah’s island resorts, while Kuala Lumpur and major mainland cities provide broader corporate opportunities. The culture is multicultural, combining Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with English widely used in business and hospitality. Lifestyle ranges from busy urban living to relaxed beaches, outdoor activities and affordable local food. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, and the employer must complete the relevant immigration process before work begins. Candidates should confirm eligibility, contract terms, accommodation, insurance and relocation support. Malaysia is generally welcoming, but costs and transport vary considerably between cities and islands.
