Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Davao and other tourism destinations, particularly in hotels, resorts, restaurants, cruises and food production. Life varies from busy urban living to a relaxed beach or provincial lifestyle. Filipino culture is welcoming, family-oriented and strongly influenced by Spanish, American and Southeast Asian traditions; English is widely used at work. Living costs are generally lower than in many Western countries, although accommodation in major tourist areas can be expensive. Foreign nationals normally need an appropriate employment visa or work permit arranged with employer support before starting work; requirements depend on nationality, contract and position. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, insurance, service charge and transport provisions in writing. Local employees should check contractual benefits, statutory contributions and tax treatment. Healthcare and international travel insurance are also worth reviewing before relocation.
