Destination Guide

Singapore is a modern city-state and island with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, logistics, technology and finance. The culture is multicultural, with English widely used alongside Malay, Mandarin and Tamil. Life is safe, efficient and convenient, with excellent public transport, healthcare and diverse food options. Accommodation and daily expenses can be high, especially near central districts, so housing and transport costs should be planned carefully. Employees usually need an employer-sponsored work pass; the appropriate pass depends on qualifications, salary and role, and approval is handled through Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. Security positions may also require recognised local licensing or training. New arrivals should prepare certified documents, check medical or background requirements, and confirm whether the employer provides accommodation, meals, uniforms, insurance or relocation support. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain, while its location provides easy access to Malaysia and other Southeast Asian destinations.
