Duty Engineer

Job Description

The Duty Engineer supports the hotel’s engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring guestrooms, public areas, plant rooms and equipment remain safe, functional and well maintained. Requirements typically include a technical certificate or diploma in electrical, mechanical, building services or a related discipline, along with relevant hotel, commercial-building or facilities experience. Candidates should understand preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, workplace safety and basic building systems. The role requires a hands-on, dependable approach, good communication and the ability to respond quickly to breakdowns and guest or department requests. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays is normally expected.
