Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a dense, international city with a strong hospitality, property, architecture, design, finance and technology job market. Opportunities are concentrated on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, with additional roles connected to resorts and hospitality projects in the wider region. Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in business and international companies. The lifestyle combines efficient public transport, excellent dining, shopping and nightlife with hiking, beaches and outlying islands. Housing can be expensive, especially in central districts, so many professionals choose areas such as Kowloon, New Territories or districts outside Central. Overseas employees generally need an employment visa sponsored by a Hong Kong employer and must satisfy qualification, experience and salary requirements. Employers often assist with immigration and relocation, but applicants should confirm tax, housing, healthcare and dependent-visa arrangements before accepting an offer.
