Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumatra and other islands. Bali is the most established tourism market, with strong demand in luxury resorts, restaurants and wellness businesses, while Jakarta and Surabaya provide opportunities in large city hotels, conferences and corporate dining. The culture is welcoming and diverse, with local customs, religious traditions and regional cuisines varying considerably. Lifestyle options range from busy urban living to beaches, outdoor activities and quieter island communities. Foreign professionals normally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work permit and stay permit; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers often assist with documentation, accommodation, flights, health cover and relocation, but these benefits should be confirmed in the contract. Costs vary widely: Bali resort areas can be expensive, while many regional locations are more affordable. Learning basic Indonesian is highly useful for daily life and team communication.
