Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumatra, and other resort islands. Jakarta, on Java, has strong demand for hotel managers, front-office leaders, food-and-beverage professionals, sales teams, and event specialists, while Bali and Lombok provide more resort-focused roles. The culture is diverse, welcoming, and community-oriented, with Indonesian used widely and English important in international hotels. Lifestyle ranges from busy urban living in Jakarta to relaxed beach communities, although traffic, humidity, and seasonal tourism should be considered. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work permit and stay permit; requirements can change, so confirm details with Shangri-La and Indonesian immigration. Employers often assist with documentation, accommodation, medical cover, or relocation, but these benefits should be confirmed before accepting an offer.
