Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, the Riau Islands and destinations such as Komodo and Sulawesi. Bali has the largest concentration of international resorts, restaurants and luxury hotels, while Jakarta and Surabaya provide strong urban hotel markets. Resort employment often includes service charge, staff meals, uniforms and sometimes accommodation, although benefits vary by property. Indonesian culture places importance on respect, community, religious customs and polite communication. Lifestyle ranges from busy beach areas and nightlife to quieter villages, with tropical weather, affordable local food and excellent outdoor activities. Bali is popular with expatriates but can be more expensive and congested; Lombok is generally quieter. Foreign employees need employer sponsorship and the appropriate work permit and KITAS immigration status before starting work. A tourist visa does not authorize employment. Candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, working hours, probation, insurance, permit costs and contract terms in writing, and arrange certified documents and medical checks before relocating.
