Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected city-state with opportunities in hotels, restaurants, spas, retail, finance, technology, healthcare and logistics. Its culture combines Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in its food, festivals and multilingual communities. Daily life is clean, safe and efficient, with excellent public transport, though accommodation and dining can be expensive. New arrivals often choose areas such as Orchard, River Valley, Geylang, Katong or the city-fringe neighbourhoods, depending on budget and commute. Foreign employees usually need an employer-sponsored work pass; spa and hospitality roles may qualify for an S Pass or another applicable permit, subject to salary and government requirements. Employers commonly assist with onboarding, but candidates should confirm housing, medical coverage, transport, meals, service charges and visa arrangements before accepting an offer. Singapore's tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
