Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hotel and resort employment across Java, Bali, Lombok, Batam and the larger tourism islands. Bali has the widest hospitality market and an international lifestyle, while Jakarta provides stronger corporate and business-hotel opportunities. Lombok and smaller islands offer a quieter pace, beaches and growing resort development, but fewer services and sometimes higher transport costs. Local culture values respect, community, modesty and religious diversity; learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is very helpful. Living costs vary greatly, with Bali tourist areas and Jakarta generally more expensive than regional cities. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship and the appropriate work and stay permits; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers usually coordinate immigration paperwork, but candidates should verify contracts, accommodation, medical cover, taxes and relocation support before accepting. Weather is tropical, with a wet and dry season, and transport ranges from urban public transit to motorcycles and ferries.
