Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with extensive coastal areas and resort destinations. Hospitality offers many opportunities in hotels, restaurants, catering, events and luxury resorts, particularly for trained chefs and international kitchen staff. The culture combines Islamic traditions with a highly international workforce; modest dress, respect for local customs and awareness of Ramadan practices are important. Lifestyle options range from beaches and shopping to desert activities, museums and vibrant dining scenes. Employers normally sponsor a work visa and residence permit after the candidate passes medical checks and provides authenticated documents. Confirm the written offer, accommodation, transport, insurance, working hours and gratuity terms before relocating. Living costs can be high, especially in Dubai, while Abu Dhabi and other emirates may offer different rental levels. Public transport is strongest in major cities.
