Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hotel, resort, restaurant, wellness, aviation, and tourism opportunities, particularly in Jakarta, Bali, Lombok, Batam, and other resort destinations. Bali is the most popular relocation choice, with a relaxed lifestyle, strong international community, beaches, temples, and active hospitality employment, although housing and traffic can be challenging. Indonesian culture values respect, politeness, community, and religious diversity; workplace communication is usually collaborative and hierarchical. Living costs vary considerably, with Jakarta and Bali often more expensive than smaller cities. Foreign employees generally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work permit and limited-stay visa, commonly arranged through the hiring company before employment begins. Requirements can change, so candidates should confirm current immigration rules with Shangri-La and Indonesian authorities. Accommodation, meals, transport, medical coverage, and relocation support may be included in hotel employment packages.
