Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers extensive opportunities in hotels, restaurants, retail, finance, logistics, technology and professional services, with hospitality jobs concentrated in Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay, Disneyland and the airport area. The culture blends Cantonese traditions, international influences, festivals, efficient public transport and a fast-paced working style. Lifestyle highlights include excellent food, shopping, hiking, beaches and easy access to outlying islands and regional travel. Most foreign employees need an employment visa arranged by an eligible sponsor; applicants generally require a confirmed job, suitable qualifications or experience and proof that the role cannot easily be filled locally. Employers normally provide guidance on documentation, while workers should budget for deposits, rent, transport and healthcare. Shared accommodation or living in Kowloon or the New Territories can reduce costs compared with Hong Kong Island.
