Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a compact, highly connected international city with strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, finance, retail, technology, logistics and professional services. Its culture blends Cantonese traditions, international influences, efficient public transport and a fast-paced working style. Lifestyle options range from dense urban districts and excellent dining to beaches, hiking trails and outlying islands. English is widely used in business, while Cantonese is valuable for customer-facing and security roles. Foreign employees generally need an employment visa sponsored by a Hong Kong company, with approval based on qualifications, a genuine job offer and market-level pay. Employers often assist with visa paperwork, but candidates should confirm housing, insurance, taxation and relocation support before accepting. Rental costs can be high, particularly near central business and hotel districts.
