Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, safe and highly connected city-state with opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, finance, technology and healthcare. Hospitality workers benefit from an international environment and strong public transport, although competition for roles can be high. The culture combines Chinese, Malay, Indian and Western influences, reflected in its food, festivals and neighbourhoods. Life is convenient and modern, with excellent trains and buses, but accommodation and everyday expenses can be expensive. Singapore is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and the role. The employer normally submits the application. Candidates should confirm accommodation, medical coverage, contract terms and pass eligibility before relocating.
