Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, modern island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, finance, technology and healthcare. Its culture blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in its festivals, languages and hawker food. The lifestyle is safe, efficient and convenient, with excellent public transport, shopping, nightlife and access to parks and waterfront areas. Living costs, especially rent, are relatively high, so employees often share accommodation or live outside the city centre. Foreign workers normally require an employer-sponsored work pass; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications and current government rules. Employers may assist with applications, but candidates should confirm housing, medical coverage, service charge and relocation terms before accepting an offer. Singapore's tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with heavier rain during monsoon periods.
