Destination Guide

The UAE is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest concentration of hotel, tourism, events and technology jobs. Other opportunities are available in resorts, restaurants, attractions and business venues across the country. The culture is multicultural and generally welcoming, while Islamic traditions influence dress, public behaviour and working practices. Lifestyle options range from beaches, shopping and dining to desert activities and cultural sites. Summers are extremely hot, so most outdoor activities are planned for cooler months or indoors. Employees normally need an employer-sponsored residence visa and work permit before starting employment; the company usually arranges medical checks, Emirates ID processing and related paperwork. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, flights, probation terms and gratuity in the contract. Relocation is easiest with valid passport documents, authenticated qualifications where required and sufficient savings for initial expenses.
