Job Description

The Commis – Chinese Restaurant supports the kitchen team with ingredient preparation, basic cooking, plating, stock handling and maintaining clean, hygienic work areas. Candidates should ideally have culinary training or previous experience in a Chinese or hotel kitchen, although motivated entry-level applicants may be considered. Basic knowledge of Chinese cooking methods, food-safety standards and kitchen equipment is useful. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, willingness to learn, teamwork and the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods. Candidates are expected to follow recipes and instructions, maintain consistent quality, observe hygiene procedures and work flexibly across shifts, weekends and public holidays.
