Destination Guide

Japan offers job opportunities in technology, logistics, manufacturing, tourism, finance, education, healthcare, and international business. Tokyo is the largest employment center, while Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Sapporo, and Okinawa provide different lifestyle and industry options. Japanese workplace culture values punctuality, preparation, respect, teamwork, and careful communication; business Japanese is highly beneficial. Daily life is safe and convenient, with excellent public transport, reliable services, varied food, and a mix of dense cities and rural areas. Living costs are highest in Tokyo, particularly for housing. Most foreign workers need an employer-sponsored work visa, and qualifications must match the relevant visa category. Highly skilled professionals may qualify for a points-based visa or faster permanent-residency route. Before relocating, confirm sponsorship, taxes, health insurance, housing support, language expectations, and whether the role requires domestic travel.
