Destination Guide

The Philippines is an archipelago with strong job markets in Luzon, especially Metro Manila, and growing opportunities in Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Clark, and tourism centers such as Bohol. Banking, business services, tourism, healthcare, education, technology, and customer-support roles are common. Filipino culture is generally welcoming, family-oriented, community-minded, and English-friendly. Urban areas offer convenient transport, shopping, and nightlife, while provincial islands provide a slower pace, lower living costs, beaches, and outdoor activities. Tagbilaran and wider Bohol offer a relaxed lifestyle, though salaries and specialist opportunities may be more limited than in Manila or Cebu. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, often beginning with an Alien Employment Permit and a 9(g) working visa. Employers typically assist with documentation, but requirements should be confirmed with Philippine immigration authorities.
