Singapore offers strong opportunities in banking, wealth management, compliance, technology, finance and regional headquarters functions. English is widely used in business, and the workplace is generally professional, multicultural and structured, with an emphasis on performance, reliability and regulatory standards. The island has excellent public transport, high-quality healthcare, efficient services, diverse food and vibrant neighbourhoods, although housing and daily expenses can be high. Employment Passes are commonly used by foreign professionals, with eligibility depending on salary, qualifications, experience and employer sponsorship; employers generally submit the application. S Passes may apply to eligible mid-skilled roles but have tighter quotas. New arrivals should budget carefully for rent, deposits, transport and healthcare, and confirm tax and employment conditions before relocating. Singapore’s compact size makes commuting convenient, while nearby Southeast Asian destinations are easily reached for travel.
