Destination Guide

Indonesia offers varied opportunities across its major islands. Java, especially Jakarta, is the country’s strongest center for banking, technology, consulting, manufacturing, and multinational careers. Bali has a large tourism, hospitality, wellness, and creative economy, while Sumatra and Kalimantan provide opportunities in energy, plantations, logistics, and natural resources. Sulawesi is important for mining, fisheries, and trade. Indonesian culture values politeness, community, family, and religious diversity; English is common in international workplaces, but Indonesian is essential for daily life. Jakarta offers extensive services and transport but has traffic, humidity, and a relatively high cost of living. Work visas are normally employer-sponsored, with requirements including a work permit and residence documentation; visitors cannot legally work. Relocation packages vary, so confirm sponsorship, medical coverage, tax treatment, housing, and return-flight policies before accepting an offer.
