Destination Guide

Bali is Indonesia’s best-known tourism island and offers employment in hotels, resorts, restaurants, wellness, events, travel companies and property services. Sales professionals benefit from a diverse market covering leisure tourism, weddings, meetings, corporate accounts and international partnerships. Balinese culture is strongly influenced by Hindu traditions, with regular temple ceremonies, offerings and community events; respectful dress and behavior are important. The lifestyle combines beaches, outdoor activities, cafes and a generally warm, social atmosphere, although traffic and seasonal tourism pressure can be significant. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate immigration status before starting employment; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers generally guide candidates through the process, but requirements and fees can change. Relocation planning should include housing, health insurance, banking, transport and local registration. Indonesian language ability is useful, while English is widely used in international hospitality.
