Destination Guide

Thailand offers varied opportunities in hospitality, tourism, events, sales, wellness, diving, food and beverage, and hotel operations. Bangkok is the main business hub, while Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi, and Pattaya provide more resort-based work. Local culture values respect, politeness, family, Buddhism, and a calm approach to communication; modest dress is appropriate at temples. Lifestyle ranges from energetic city living and affordable dining to relaxed beach communities, although resort areas can be seasonal and housing costs vary. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored Non-Immigrant B visa and a Thai work permit before starting work. Employers often assist with documentation, but requirements should be confirmed with Thai authorities. Relocation planning should include accommodation, health insurance, transport, tax registration, and basic Thai language learning. Bangkok has excellent transit, while island locations may require more limited services and transport planning.
