Destination Guide

Bali is Indonesia’s most established island destination for international hospitality careers, with opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, villas, wellness, events, and tourism services. Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, and Ubud each offer different lifestyles, from busy beach districts to quieter cultural areas. Balinese Hindu traditions strongly influence daily life, ceremonies, food, art, and community relationships, so cultural respect and flexibility are essential. Living costs vary considerably; housing near major resort areas is more expensive, while inland locations can be more affordable. Traffic is busy, and scooters are common, although newcomers should check licensing and insurance requirements. Foreign nationals generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and the appropriate Indonesian work and stay visa; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers usually guide successful candidates through immigration, documentation, and relocation requirements.
