Destination Guide

Qatar is a peninsula rather than an island, with Doha and Lusail offering the largest concentration of hospitality, tourism, retail, aviation, finance, construction, technology, and education jobs. The culture blends Gulf traditions with a highly international expatriate community. Respectful dress, punctuality, hospitality, and awareness of Islamic customs are important; alcohol is restricted to licensed venues. Lifestyle options include beaches, desert trips, museums, shopping malls, sports, restaurants, and major cultural events. Employers commonly arrange work visas and residence permits, although requirements vary by contract and nationality. Relocating workers usually need a valid passport, employment offer, medical checks, document attestation, and employer sponsorship. Interns should confirm whether accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, flights, and visa costs are included. Summers are extremely hot, while winter is comfortable and popular for outdoor activities. Lusail provides modern housing and transport links to Doha.
