Destination Guide

Thailand offers varied hospitality opportunities across Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi, Koh Phi Phi, and other resort destinations. Hotels, restaurants, beach clubs, spas, and tourism businesses regularly recruit chefs, service staff, housekeepers, engineers, and guest-relations professionals. Island life is generally warm, relaxed, and community-oriented, with strong Buddhist traditions, excellent street food, lively markets, and easy access to beaches and outdoor activities. Costs vary: Phuket and Koh Samui are more expensive than smaller islands, especially for housing. Public transport can be limited, so scooters are common, though safe riding and a valid licence are important. Foreign employees normally need employer-sponsored permission, usually a Non-Immigrant B visa and Thai work permit, before starting work. Employers may assist with paperwork, but requirements and benefits should be confirmed in writing. Healthcare, taxes, accommodation, and contract conditions should also be checked before relocating.
