Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, offering strong opportunities in luxury hotels, restaurants, tourism, aviation, retail, technology, and finance. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the largest employment centres, while Ras Al Khaimah is known for resorts, nature, and a quieter lifestyle. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large international population; modest dress, respectful behaviour, and awareness of Islamic customs are important. Lifestyle options range from beaches and malls to desert activities, dining, and cultural attractions. Most expatriates need employer sponsorship for a residence and work visa. Employers commonly arrange medical checks, Emirates ID processing, health insurance, and sometimes accommodation or an allowance, flights, and transport. Before relocating, candidates should confirm salary structure, housing, probation terms, working hours, leave, and benefits. Living costs vary considerably, with Dubai generally more expensive than Ras Al Khaimah.
