Destination Guide

Indonesia offers opportunities in technology, e-commerce, logistics, tourism, finance, manufacturing, and consumer services. Jakarta, on Java, is the main corporate and technology center, while Bali is popular for tourism, hospitality, remote work, and international communities. Java has dense urban life, strong public transport in major cities, and broad career options; Bali offers a more relaxed lifestyle but can be expensive in popular areas. Sumatra, Sulawesi, and Kalimantan provide opportunities in natural resources, agribusiness, logistics, and regional development. Indonesian culture values community, respect, hospitality, and religious diversity. Foreign employees generally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work visa or stay permit; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Relocation planning should include housing, healthcare, transportation, taxes, language support, and local registration. Jakarta is usually the easiest entry point for regional corporate roles.
