Destination Guide

Malaysia is a multicultural country with opportunities in logistics, technology, manufacturing, finance, shared services, tourism, and international trade. Kuala Lumpur and Selangor are the main corporate and logistics hubs, while Penang and Johor also have strong industrial and supply-chain markets. The country offers a mix of Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous cultures, excellent food, modern cities, tropical beaches, and relatively affordable living compared with many regional business centres. Popular island destinations include Langkawi, Penang, Tioman, and parts of Sabah and Sarawak. Foreign professionals generally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, with the company handling much of the application process. Relocating employees should review eligibility, dependants’ passes, taxation, healthcare, housing, schooling, and transport before moving. English is widely used in international workplaces, although Malay is the national language.
