Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers employment opportunities in logistics, customs, warehousing, transport, technology, healthcare, finance, and professional services. Its culture is diverse, with regional differences, strong public institutions, and generally direct but polite workplace communication. Lifestyle options range from large-city living in London, Manchester, Birmingham, or Glasgow to quieter coastal and rural communities. Living costs vary considerably, with London and the southeast usually most expensive. EU and other overseas nationals should check whether they need a Skilled Worker visa or another route; employer sponsorship, an eligible occupation, salary requirements, and English-language rules may apply. Customs roles may not always qualify for sponsorship, so this must be confirmed with DHL and the UK government. Relocation planning should include right-to-work checks, accommodation, National Insurance, tax registration, transport, and healthcare arrangements.
