The Cook prepares fresh, high-quality meals and snacks for guests using approved recipes, presentation standards and food-safety procedures. Requirements generally include commercial cookery experience, knowledge of food hygiene and safe kitchen practices, good organisation, and the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods. A relevant hospitality qualification, such as Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, is advantageous. The successful candidate is expected to maintain a clean workstation, control food wastage, support stock rotation, follow workplace health and safety procedures, and work cooperatively with chefs and front-of-house colleagues. Flexibility is important because lounge operations may require early starts, weekends, public holidays and varied shifts. Customer focus, reliability and a positive attitude are highly valued.
