Its properties are known for warm Asian hospitality, high service standards, premium accommodation, dining, wellness, and meeting facilities. In the Philippines, Shangri-La operates established luxury properties and is recognized as a major employer in the hotel and tourism sector. The company places strong emphasis on guest satisfaction, professionalism, teamwork, cultural awareness, and employee development. A Marketing Coordinator typically works within the commercial, marketing, or communications team and contributes to promoting the hotel, its restaurants, events, packages, and experiences through online and offline channels.

Destination Guide

The Philippines offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, marketing, shared services, retail, and business process operations, especially in Metro Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, and other resort destinations. Filipino culture is warm, family-oriented, community-minded, and English is widely used in professional settings. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living in Manila to a more relaxed coastal pace on the islands. Living costs depend greatly on location; Manila generally has higher rent and commuting costs than provincial destinations. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, commonly a 9(g) pre-arranged employment visa, rather than working on a tourist visa. Employers usually guide candidates through immigration, documentation, and local registration. New arrivals should budget for housing deposits, transport, healthcare, and possible relocation expenses, and should confirm current visa rules with the employer or Philippine authorities.
