Company Info

Shangri-La is a leading luxury hospitality group founded in Asia and known for hotels, resorts, and city properties across the world. Its portfolio includes Shangri-La, Traders, Kerry, and JEN brands, serving both leisure and business travelers. Shangri-La properties are recognized for attentive service, comfortable accommodation, restaurants, wellness facilities, and meeting spaces. In Malaysia, the group operates established hotels and resorts serving local guests, international visitors, and corporate customers. Employees typically work in a multicultural environment where guest care, teamwork, presentation, and operational consistency are highly valued. An F&B Administrator supports the behind-the-scenes organization that enables restaurants, bars, banquets, and room service teams to operate efficiently. The company generally offers structured hotel procedures, on-the-job learning, and opportunities to progress within hospitality, although exact benefits and career paths depend on the individual property and employment contract.

Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, retail, technology, healthcare, and shared services. Popular island destinations include Langkawi, Penang, Tioman, Redang, and parts of Sabah, while Kuala Lumpur and major mainland cities provide broader employment options. The culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, Indigenous, and international influences; English is widely used in hospitality, although Malay is the national language. Lifestyle ranges from busy urban living to relaxed beach or resort communities, with generally affordable food and transport. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, and the employer must meet immigration requirements before work begins; working on a tourist entry is not permitted. Relocating employees should confirm salary, accommodation, meals, insurance, transport, working hours, and permit arrangements in writing. Island roles may offer a quieter setting but fewer services and less frequent travel connections.
