Destination Guide

Singapore is a multicultural island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, technology, healthcare, logistics and professional services. Hospitality employees benefit from an international environment, efficient public transport, excellent infrastructure and a wide range of dining and leisure options. The lifestyle is convenient but relatively expensive, particularly for housing; many employees live in apartments outside the city centre and commute by MRT. English is widely used at work, alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Foreign professionals generally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, subject to salary and eligibility requirements; the employer normally manages the application. Relocating applicants should budget for rent, deposits, healthcare, transport and schooling where applicable. Singapore is warm and humid year-round, with frequent rain, and offers beaches, parks, cultural districts and easy travel links throughout Southeast Asia.
