The group is recognised for personalised service, strong Asian-inspired hospitality, and high standards in accommodation, dining, wellness, and events. Its properties include luxury city hotels and resort destinations, serving business travellers, families, and leisure guests. Shangri-La places emphasis on colleague development, cultural awareness, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence. Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a compact, highly international destination with strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, catering, retail, finance, technology, and professional services. For culinary professionals, luxury hotels and independent restaurants regularly seek chefs with specialist experience, including Indian cuisine. The culture combines Cantonese traditions, international influences, festivals, efficient public transport, and a fast-paced working environment. Lifestyle options range from dense urban neighbourhoods and excellent dining to beaches, hiking trails, and quieter outlying islands. Housing can be expensive, so many employees share accommodation or live in areas such as Kowloon or the New Territories. Foreign employees normally require an employment visa sponsored by their employer, with approval based on qualifications, experience, and a confirmed job offer. New arrivals should arrange suitable accommodation, insurance, banking, and local registration before or soon after arrival.
