Company Info

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is a Hong Kong-founded luxury hospitality group operating hotels, resorts, and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets. The brand is recognised for Asian-inspired hospitality, personalised service, strong resort destinations, and upscale accommodation, dining, meetings, and wellness experiences. In Malaysia, the group has operated prominent city and resort hotels, supported by structured commercial, operational, and leadership teams. Employees may benefit from international service standards, professional development, staff accommodation or travel-related benefits depending on the property, and opportunities within a global hotel network. Exact benefits, reporting lines, and responsibilities vary by hotel and employment contract.

Destination Guide

Malaysia is not one island but a multicultural country with opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Sabah, and Sarawak. Hospitality professionals can find roles in luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism companies, events, sales, and destination management. English is widely used in international hotels, while Malay is the national language; Chinese languages and Tamil are also common. Lifestyle ranges from busy city living to relaxed coastal and island communities, with generally affordable food and services compared with many global destinations. Popular island areas such as Langkawi offer beaches and outdoor activities, although career options may be more seasonal. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, with the company handling approval and immigration procedures; requirements can change. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, salary, accommodation, insurance, tax, and relocation support before accepting an offer. Malaysia’s warm climate, diverse cuisine, and welcoming communities make relocation attractive.
