Destination Guide

Indonesia offers opportunities for hospitality professionals across Bali, Java, Lombok, and resort islands such as Nusa Lembongan, Bintan, and the Gili Islands. Bali has the largest concentration of international hotels, restaurants, wellness businesses, and expatriate communities, while other islands may offer a quieter lifestyle and stronger resort-focused careers. Indonesian culture values politeness, family, community, and religious traditions; customs vary significantly between islands. Living costs can be moderate, although popular tourist areas are considerably more expensive. Employees should expect tropical weather, traffic in busy destinations, and a relaxed but sometimes flexible pace of life. Foreign nationals generally require an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate stay visa before beginning employment. Employers commonly assist with immigration, accommodation, airport transfers, and relocation, but candidates should confirm all benefits, tax obligations, healthcare coverage, and contract terms before moving.
