Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied lifestyle choices rather than one single island destination. Langkawi is a relaxed resort island with beaches, nature, and a growing hospitality job market, while Penang combines heritage culture, excellent food, and a lively urban environment. Sabah and Sarawak on Borneo provide opportunities in resorts, tourism, conservation, and city hotels, with access to rainforests and outdoor activities. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Indigenous influences, and English is widely used in business and hospitality. Living costs are generally moderate, though Kuala Lumpur and popular resort areas can be more expensive. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, with approval dependent on the role, salary, qualifications, and current immigration rules. Employers may assist with permits, accommodation, flights, and relocation, but these benefits should be confirmed before accepting an offer.
