Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, finance, technology, healthcare, and logistics. English is widely used at work, while Mandarin, Malay, Tamil, and other languages are also common. The culture is multicultural, orderly, and fast-paced, with excellent public transport, reliable healthcare, abundant food options, and a generally safe urban lifestyle. Housing can be expensive, especially near central areas, so many employees share apartments or live farther from work. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass, subject to current salary, qualification, and eligibility requirements. Employers usually guide successful applicants through the application process. New arrivals should budget for rent, transport, deposits, insurance, and daily expenses before relocating.
